On 28 November 2023, the Danish Commercial Embassy in Thailand, led by Mr. Ole Lindholm , Commercial Counsellor and Head of Commercial Affairs, along with his team, and Mr. Martin Schneekloth , Special Economic Advisor for the Circular Economy, visited the BIOTEC, NANOTEC, and MTEC at Thailand Science Park. They were welcomed by Assistant Professor Dr. Weerachai Arjharn , Vice President of NSTDA, Dr. Wonnop Visessanguan, Executive Director of the BIOTEC, Associate Professor Dr. Teerasak Srikhirin, Executive Director of MTEC, and their teams of executives and researchers.

During the visit, directors of each center discussed their work, aligning with the embassy's mission of promoting research and innovation cooperation between the two countries. The Danish embassy focuses on projects that support the circular economy, aligning with Thailand's governmental policies aimed at sustainable development, particularly the New Sustainable Growth Engine (Bio-Circular-Green Economy). Additionally, researchers from the Nanotech Center presented on the topic “Thailand Carbon Capture utilization and Storage (CCUS) Alliance and Technology Roadmap” by Dr. Sanchai Kuboon from the Reaction Acceleration and Nano-level Computation research group.

The delegation also toured various laboratories, including the Nanocatalysis and Molecular Simulation Research, Food and Feed Innovation Center, and Food Materials Research Team.

The visit concluded with discussions on further possibilities in knowledge exchange in areas such as biogas, biocontrol, alternative proteins, and human development. Plans were made for future collaboration and researcher exchanges between Thailand and Denmark in related research fields.
