Thailand Science Park (TSP), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), participated in the IASP Asia Pacific Conference 2026 held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, joining science park leaders, innovation ecosystem stakeholders, researchers, policymakers, and international delegates from across the world to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and explore future collaboration opportunities.

This year’s IASP Asia Pacific Division Event was hosted by Science and Technology Park, Chiang Mai University (STeP), under the theme “From Asia Pacific to the Global Ecosystems: Empowering Sustainable and Inclusive Growth through Innovation.” The event welcomed approximately 150 delegates representing science parks, innovation districts, universities, government agencies, researchers, advisors, and industry leaders from both the Asia Pacific region and the international community.
The conference program officially commenced on 02 June 2026 with the Welcome Reception, attended by Professor Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, President of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), together with the representative delegation. The session provided an opportunity for participants to build networks, reconnect with international partners, and foster future collaboration across innovation ecosystems.
On 03 June 2026, the conference continued with a full day program featuring keynote speeches, panel discussions, and international sharing sessions. The opening sessions featured remarks and insights from distinguished speakers including Ms. Ebba Lund, Chief Executive Officer of IASP, followed by Mr. Tang Hao, President of the IASP Asia Pacific Division, and Assoc. Prof. Pitiwat Wattanachai, D.Eng. Director of Science and Technology Park, Chiang Mai University.

Additionally, Dr. Chularat Tanprasert, Executive Vice President of NSTDA and Director of Thailand Science Park, delivered a presentation entitled “From Science Park to Soft Landing Platform: How Thailand Science Park is Building ASEAN’s Next Innovation Gateway.” The session highlighted Thailand Science Park’s strategic transformation from a traditional science park model towards an internationally connected innovation platform that supports startup growth, soft landing services, ecosystem integration, and regional market expansion.
The program concluded on 04 June 2026 with technical visits to key innovation infrastructures in Chiang Mai, including the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) and Science and Technology Park, Chiang Mai University (STeP), providing delegates with opportunities to learn from Thailand’s innovation ecosystem development and exchange best practices with international counterparts.
