ASPA Leads Korean Entrepreneurs and Researchers from Leading Institutes on a Visit to Thailand Science Park, Creating Opportunities for Business and Innovation
On September 3, 2024, Dr. Sanat Wongthaveethong, Deputy Director of Thailand Science Park (TSP), NSTDA, and Prapatsorn Wejprasit, PhD., from the Business Development and Innovation Cluster Division of NSTDA, along with FDI Group Co., Ltd., one of the private companies at TSP, welcomed a delegation of entrepreneurs and researchers from leading educational institutions and research organizations in Korea to visit Thailand Science Park in Pathum Thani Province. This visit was part of the Business Meeting ASPA 2024 in Bangkok, organized by the Asian Science Park Association (ASPA).
The objective of this activity was to create business opportunities and promote research and innovation collaboration between Thailand and South Korea, particularly in target industries such as machinery and automotive parts, software, and textiles. Additionally, the event aimed to build networks for technology and innovation development between research institutes, educational institutions, and government agencies in the Asian region.
On this occasion, Khun Nantapat Na Songkhla, Organizational Development Manager and Assistant Executive Chairman of FDI Group Co., Ltd., in his capacity as a member of Thailand Science Park, joined in welcoming the delegation. He also presented information on starting a technology and innovation business in Thailand, including various benefits provided by the Board of Investment (BOI) and other government support mechanisms.
The Korean delegation also visited the operations of leading research laboratories within Thailand Science Park, which is one of the country’s key innovation hubs, such as the Electrical and Electronic Products Testing Center (PTEC) at the INC2 Building.
This visit marked an important step in exchanging knowledge and business experiences between Thailand Science Park and Korea, as well as exploring future opportunities for joint investment in technology and innovation businesses.
The Korean delegation included executives from the private sector and leading research institutions such as DHGlobal Co., Ltd., Sunjin Precision Co., Ltd., TOPTECH Co., Ltd., Yusung Precision IND. Co., Ltd., K-Tech Co., Ltd., Samduck Textile, Sungshintech Jably Co., Ltd., Designnetwork Co., Ltd., Huesync Corporation, Kyungpook National University, Gyeongbuk Technopark, Electronic Information Devices Group, Yeongnam University, and Kyungpook National University.
