Thailand Science Park, in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and the Regional Science Parks, announces its readiness to host the 28th ASPA Annual Conference 2025 in Thailand
Mongolia, August 19-21, 2024 – Asst. Prof Weerachai Arjharn, Deputy Director of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and Director of Thailand Science Park (TSP), along with senior officials from the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), and directors from Regional Science Parks (RSPs) in Thailand, participated in the 27th ASPA Annual Conference 2024 held under the theme “Role and Impact of STPs for Regional Development.”
The conference, held in Mongolia, gathered key figures from across Asia to exchange ideas and seek collaboration opportunities in science, technology, and innovation. Participants included representatives from Kazakhstan, Iran, Turkey, China, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. During the event, Thailand was officially announced as the host for the 28th ASPA Annual Conference in 2025.

Asst. Prof Weerachai expressed his delight in participating in the international ASPA Annual Conference and conveyed his honor in having Thailand chosen as the host for the 28th ASPA Annual Conference in 2025. The event will be organized by TSP in collaboration with the MHESI, and the 4 RSPs across Thailand, namely the Northern Science Park, Northeastern Science Park 1, Northeastern Science Park 2, and Southern Science Park. Additionally, the Thai Business Incubators and Science Parks Association (Thai-BISPA) and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) will support the event.
Asst. Prof Weerachai highlighted Thailand’s rich cultural heritage, history, diverse attractions, and flavorful cuisine, emphasizing the country’s commitment to promoting research, development, and innovation as key drivers of economic and social progress. He noted that MHESI established TSP in 2002 as the country’s first science park. Since then, this initiative has expanded to include over 44 university science parks nationwide.In 2024, MHESI plans to enhance the mechanisms of the RSPs to develop Thailand’s 4 economic corridors. This initiative aims to create significant economic and social value and boost the potential of targeted industries through deep technology. The project will connect stakeholders from government, private sector, higher education, and civil society, using the Regional Science Parks as vital hubs to link infrastructure across all regions. This will benefit private enterprises, manufacturing, and services, ultimately increasing employment and income for the country’s citizens.
Asst. Prof Weerachai also invited ASPA members to participate in driving technology and innovation related to the target industries in Thailand’s 4 economic corridors. The focus will be on 7 key technologies:
- Creative Digital Technology,
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and Smart Electronics Technology,
- Digital AI Sensor and Microelectronics Technology,
- Energy and Biochemical Technology (Biorefinery),
- Extraction Technology,
- Plasma Technology,
- Oleochemical Technology.
In conclusion, Asst. Prof Weerachai expressed his gratitude to the National Information Technology Park and the Science Park Administration of Mongolia for hosting the ASPA Annual Conference 2024 so warmly and impressively. As the host of the 2025 conference, Thailand eagerly welcomes all ASPA members to exchange knowledge and expertise in science, technology, and innovation, as well as science park management, to explore future collaborations.
