On 28 April 2026 at Pathum Thani, Thailand Science Park (TSP), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (HKCMCL), a leading science park in Hong Kong focused on supporting technology startups and entrepreneurs, particularly in Digital Technology, AI, FinTech, and Smart City sectors.
This collaboration marks the establishment of an innovation bridge between Thailand and Hong Kong, aimed at connecting startup ecosystems, strengthening innovation partnerships, and creating new cross-border business opportunities.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, President of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and Ir. Eric Chan, Chief Public Mission Officer of (HKCMCL). The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Simon Chan, Chairman of (HKCMCL), and Dr. Chularat Tanprasert, Executive Vice President of NSTDA and Director of Thailand Science Park.
Prof. Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong stated that “this collaboration aims to develop structured mechanisms to support startups in expanding into international markets. These include facilitating market entry, fostering business partnerships, and enabling pilot projects with industry partners to accelerate commercialization and regional growth.”
Importantly, this MoU builds on ongoing collaboration between TSP and Cyberport in supporting startup development. A notable example is Nano Coating Tech, an NSTDA deep tech startup based at Thailand Science Park, specializing in nanocoating innovations for industrial and solar applications. The company has successfully joined Cyberport’s Incubation Programmed, becoming the first Thai startup to participate. Through the programmed, it has gained access to funding, global investor networks, and business development support, reflecting the growing competitiveness of Thai startups on the global stage.
Dr. Chularat Tanprasert added that TSP will further strengthen this collaboration through the TSP Scale X Landing Program, designed to support both Thai and international startups. The program connects startups with real industry demand while providing access to research infrastructure, testing services, and standardization support to facilitate international expansion.
At the core of this partnership is a shared mission to advance startups across ecosystems by creating structured pathways for international market entry, connecting startups with global partners and investors, enabling pilot projects and commercialization opportunities, and reducing risks associated with cross-border expansion.
A key strength of the programmed lies in its ability to lower the cost and risk of entering the Thai market, while accelerating business growth through established partner networks. This enables startups to scale more efficiently and transition across ecosystems with greater confidence.
The TSP Scale X Landing Program is expected to open for applications in early July 2026.
This collaboration represents a strategic step towards building a more connected regional innovation ecosystem, where startups can grow, scale, and compete globally through strong cross-border partnerships.
