TSP Open House Show Integrated R&D Supports

Thailand Science Park (TSP) country first and fully integrated hub of R&D managed by the Technology Management Center (TMC) of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). TSP is a critical part of Thailand 's efforts to strengthen its capabilities in research and innovation. On June 30, 2009, TSP held an event “Services@TSP 2009” gathers R&D supports and services offered by NSTDA and TSP tenants.

a full range of value-added services to support technology
businesses to promote greater innovativeness and encourage
more R&D activities within the technology intensive
sectors. Dr.Supat believe that success of private company
will, at the same time, bring the country's success.

Dr. Janekrishna Kanatarana, Director of Thailand Science Park (TSP) , gave an overview about TSP that on its total space of 80 Acres , TSP offers such supports and services as world-class R&D infrastructure, low interest loans, technology consultancy, testing and analytical, science and technology database. TSP also houses the four national research centers, where private companies can leverage on joint R&D and contract R&D activities.
TSP also located in close proximity to leading universities; the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thammasat University (TU), Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT); and more than 60 local and international corporate tenants, putting it within reach of well over 2,000 highly-skilled R&D personnel. Its strategic location makes the TSP an ideal venue for R&D intensive companies. |

TSP's Director added that aside from those support and services, tenants of TSP also gain privileges and incentives from Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) equivalent to BOI Zone 3 and can apply for 200% R&D tax incentive from the Revenue Department. Tenant can easily access to the state-of-the-art Thailand Science Park Convention Center comprising of 350 seats meeting room, an auditorium and 2,000 sq.m. exhibition area; and tap upon Science and Technology database with advance telecommunication networks. Newly established technology company may rent R&D space within the TSP-Incubator unit at subsidized rate. Established companies may selected from Lab/Office space, pilot plant, or long term leasehold land.
Phase 1 of the TSP is fully occupied, its expansion phase, Innovation Cluste II (INC II), is now under construction and estimate to accomplished in early 2011. INC 2 comprises of 4 inter-connected towers which creates over 124,000 sq.m. of total floor area. INC 2 is built around the concept of “Work-Life Integration”. It is designed to create a conducive environment for technology companies, in which their talented people can live, work and play. INC 2 aims to adapt to the ever-changing needs of today's knowledge workers. |
